Over the Weekend

Well, its been a couple of days since my last post. This one as well will probably be pretty short and concise. Not much has happened since we last talked. On Friday night I went into town and met up with the guy who had invited me to Thanksgiving dinner. We sat around and chatted, just the two of us. It was really quite nice. I had the rules of Cricket explained to me. It is a bizarre sport, and one that would seem to have its own language involved. The British invent weird games. We also mentioned the topic of chess. Ash (as his name is) is a jeweler by trade. However, he is not the salesman of jewelry, he is the actual smith. Which is something I find pretty awesome that I'm friends with a goldsmith essentially. Anyways, he has a side project that he wants to do of making a jeweled chess set. So all the figures would be like white gold (or if he could afford it platnuim) with white diamonds in them. The other side would be yellow gold with black stone in them. I thought it sounded awesome, and we discussed the values of a marble board versus a beautiful NZ carved wooden board. (I would want marble).

The rest of the weekend was rather uneventful. To be honest (and to rub it in some people's face) its a little to hot here to do much outside. Its rather hot and muggy. On Sunday I watched Yannik for a couple extra hours since Leigh was still feeling pretty bad.

On monday, Leigh was still sick so I took Yannik swimming to get him out of the house. That night I had my first Lvl 2 Improv class. It went really well. We are a group of 8 which is a really good size. All of them are people from our last class except for 1 person which is also fantastic because we already have some chemistry. I am far more excited for this than I was lvl 1.

Well I'm off. Got to go do my 20 minutes of jump roping. Talk to you soon. Oh here are just some random shots of NZ and some of the things I've done or seen while I'm at it.

  1. It looks like you are having a great time. It has been nothing but cold and wet and icky here in NC. Oh to be warm.

  3. Miss you, Wessy! I'm so glad you are doing this blog; it's like I can get a slice of Wes whenever I start missing Whethermen shows and FYP parties.
